RFK Jr. lied to Congress
The federal government’s war on vaccines is forcing courageous leaders to stand up.
There’s lies, damned lies, and RFK Jr. lies.
For years, the HHS Secretary has lied about vaccines. He’s promoted discredited research that casts doubt on vaccine safety as a way to push his own crusade against vaccines. We’re all used to that. But his lying has entered a new realm now: he just lied to Congress.
RFK Jr. testified to the Senate Finance Committee that any American who wants the COVID-19 booster shot would be able to get it. That was a lie.
Because of his new policies limiting the approval of the COVID-19 vaccines, we face chaos attempting to get our booster shots. Pharmacies are turning patients away. Some are requiring a prescription. Some aren’t stocking the shot at all.
Even this administration's inaction is harming us. The CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) still hasn't made a decision about who should have access to the COVID-19 vaccine. That's because RFK Jr. fired every member of the ACIP in June and replaced them with anti-vax extremists. But many states have laws that are directly tied to ACIP’s recommendations. These states can't prepare. They don't know what to tell schools, doctors, or pharmacies.

Healthcare leaders are resisting
This week, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) broke with the CDC and affirmed its support for COVID-19 vaccination in pregnant women.
Recently, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, and the American Public Health Association all sued RFK Jr. to stop him from stripping access to the shot from pregnant women and healthy children.
And now over 1,000 current and former HHS employees have released a letter demanding that RFK Jr. resign for his dangerous policies.
Political leaders are stepping up
In Massachusetts, Gov. Maura Healey ordered pharmacies to make the booster available to all residents, and has mandated that state health insurers cover the vaccine.
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro demanded that the state bypass the federal recommendations.
New Mexico’s Health Secretary has ordered that pharmacies provide access to the shot, and Colorado followed suit.
New York has declared a statewide disaster in order to maintain vaccine access.
California, Oregon, Hawaii, and Washington have formed the West Coast Health Alliance to provide unified vaccine recommendations, regardless of the Trump administration’s partisan guidance.
How we fight back together
This is what courage looks like. Doctors, scientists, parents, and state leaders are refusing to let the Trump administration dismantle our protections. But they cannot do it alone.
That is why we are building Vax PAC - a coalition of doctors, researchers, and activists working to support the leaders who are standing up to Trump and RFK Jr. We are joining forces with scientists, grassroots advocates, and state officials who refuse to surrender science to ideology.

RFK Jr. lied to Congress. He will keep lying to the public. But truth still matters, science still matters, and lives still matter. Together, we can fight back.
